Test Drive: 2009 Acura TSX - Design/Fit and Finish
With its massive chrome frame around an angled smile, the TSX's
grille styling is quite bizarre, and sadly seems to reflect Acura's new
design language. In profile, it's not too bad, with the wedgelike theme
reminiscent of the past TSX. But even then, the chunky front overhang
and rear door cutline that runs right through the wheelwell flare lends
additional awkwardness.
Things are much better inside, where high-grade materials and
gimmick-free design are found. However, we'd prefer real metal (or even
fake wood) trim to the faux titanium accents, as the latter once again
reminded us of an Accord.
Toyota Venza V6 2WD Function
The pi?ce de r?sistance of the Venza's interior is its sleek
center stack. The shifter sits up high in an attractively carved-out
region opposite the elegant standard dual-zone automatic climate
controls, which look as if they were lifted from a high-end stereo
system. Speaking of stereos, our Venza had the unremarkable six-speaker
base unit, but we did have a chance to listen to the uplevel JBL
Synthesis surround-sound system, and that setup should satisfy all but
the most discerning audiophiles. On the downside, a dedicated iPod
interface is unavailable.
Willow Laboratories Inc: Subaru Forester 2.5XT Limited
All in all, the 2009 Subaru Forester 2.5XT Limited is an
impressive effort. It offers familiar Forester features along with
increased comfort and refinement in an endearingly rugged wrapper.
Die-hard Forester fans will likely embrace the changes, and Subie
newbies will appreciate the 2009 model's considerably broader appeal.
The Forester has finally found itself as a class-leading compact
crossover SUV.
